PROJECT REVEAL: Laurie Renovation Mudroom + Laundry Room and Pantry

The opportunity to delve into the details of our latest work is always a highlight, and today we’re continuing the reveal of our Laurie Renovation—also known to our Instagram followers as project #RDHlauriereno. This full-scale kitchen, pantry, mudroom, and laundry room remodel was an absolute labor of love. While we’ve already unveiled the French-inspired kitchen, today’s post is dedicated exclusively to the combination pantry, mudroom + laundry area, both of which prove that function and style can go hand-in-hand.

You might remember from our previous #RDHlauriereno reveal that the concept for this remodel came from a travel photo taken in the south of France. We wanted to bring a fresh, distinctly European aesthetic to this once outdated space, and our vision was to carry that same notion throughout the entire project—mudroom and laundry areas included.

Layout constraints were a significant consideration as we began to embark on this portion of the project. This function-driven, catch-all space, which connects to the home through a side entry, needed to include a double washer and dryer, ample storage space, and an oversized tub and sink to allow for washing sports equipment and the family’s dog, PJ.

Of course, incorporating all of the above into tight square footage was no small task, but with a good amount of creative problem solving, we were able to present, tweak, and ultimately perfect a layout solution that our clients truly loved.

Honing in on final selections for this space allowed us to work with so many incredible vendors we’ve come to know and love. From the terra cotta flooring by Exquisite Surfaces to the custom cabinetry by Trim Tech to lighting by Triple Seven to the washer and dryer appliances by Electrolux and our Fiandre porcelain slab by ELM surfaces, each vendor went above and beyond to provide the lasting quality and style we needed.

In addition to our larger selections, we wanted to bring in some beautiful hardware and storage pieces, and Rejuvenation absolutely delivered. We selected products like their Massey Drawer Pull, Ball Cabinet Knob, and Steele Canvas Laundry Bin to match the aesthetic of our project, along with a custom upholstered bench cushion by Matthew’s Upholstery with GP&J Baker fabric via LeeJofa fabric. Last but not least, we brought in a collection of curated accessories from our very own reDesign Shop to elevate the entire space.

Seeing our Laurie Renovation come to life is a reminder that remodels always require patience and persistence, but each component of the project comes together in the end. We’re firm believers that there’s no such thing as minor details in design, and honing in on each decision— both big and small—always results in a space that strikes the right balance of beauty and function.
